Don’t scroll down if you have sensitive eyes to nudity or are at work
Boudoir is all about rediscovering self esteem. Doing something for ME and no one else. I mean, sure there is a part of me that thought this would be a great gift for my husband. And it was.
Here I am every week session after session expecting my clients to get out of their comfort zone. To push their boundaries. But have I made those same terrifying choices? Nope. So I decided to change that and step out of my own comfort zone.
I took it a step further and decided to bare all, well some of me. I want my clients to feel comfortable in front of my lens and the only way to do that is to experience the same freeing journey.
So how do we go from hating our bodies to feeling comfortable in our own skin? Self love can be a lot of work. It’s a journey. But it’s worth it. The work is worth it. The journey is worth it.
That being said, it’s important to remember that there is no destination, that our bodies are ever changing. This journey is different for each one of you. Find what works for you. If you think up a negative thought, consciously say a positive thought about your body. That is why I have a “positive talk only” policy at the Studio. Once you start with the hate talk it can spiral out of control.
I can tell you from experience that most women if not all deal with this daily struggle. I hear it from size 0 woman as well as curvy ladies. It is never ending self perpetuating talk that brings us down. So you lose 10, 20, 30, etc lbs. Guess what? If you don’t start empowering yourself and loving yourself NOW then it will never end.
Boudoir photography gets us bit closer to giving permission to love ourselves. When you come in I can 100% promise that I am not looking at your stretch marks, extra weight, scars, whatever… I am looking at your gorgeous eyes, your amazing smile, and photographing the way your small of your back reaches your bottom. Or the spot where your shoulder and collarbone touches your neck.
You are a beautiful ART form and I am telling you it is okay to love yourself. I want us to be on this journey together.
