River Boudoir Session {New Hampshire}

There is a small window of time when we can get outdoors here in New England. So despite the intense heat this day, we got some killer shots!

What I love about this session is that it looks effortless.
What you don't see..... the two of us leaving the spot I had in mind because someone was illegally tenting there. The endless bugs and frogs. Putting the white t-shirt in the heavy iron water and being grossed out by the color. The sweat lots o sweat. I even put my finger in a mushy mushroom while showing a pose. The slimy rocks she had to sit on πŸ‘Œ
What you do see... the two of us creating a fun memory and some kickass photos

Dark Angel Boudoir

My client brought in these great angel wings! I just love how this whole shoot came out! Especially since this was her second time coming in. The first time you have a boudoir session, nerves can be expected. It’s the unknown that makes most ladies a bit apprehensive. I’m so glad this client came back and pushed herself a little further out of her comfort!

This month ends my Barrington, NH studio. It is a bit bittersweet because although I am sad to leave the space I have been in for a few years, I am also excited about new shooting possibilities. In February the studio will be in Dover and then in Hampton, New Hampshire. Be sure to email to get on my list for future dates!

A New Hampshire Couple's Boudoir Experience

What made you decide to book a session?

I actually saw some of her work on Facebook and loved the way she captured the hidden confidence we all have but are afraid to let shine. I know I have it in there and it shines most when I’m with or around my husband. He makes me feel amazing and beautiful!

 How were you feeling prior to your session?

Honestly I was excited! Doing a couples boudoir shoot was so fun and Nichole is a blast ! Made us feel like ourselves and let us be as silly as we are normally with no uptight feelings.

 Describe your experience

 How did you feel about yourself after your

 session?

I felt beautiful! The hair and makeup is not something I do well with so I went after our shoot by work and my co-workers were like β€œyour so pretty!” Pampering yourself once in a while is so necessary!

 What advise would you give to a friend considering a

 session?

Do it!! Because the nerves before melt away once you pick outfits and get laughing with Nichole and loosen up to the fun and end product, which is amazing!

 How was working with Nichole and the stylist?

 Would you consider doing another session?

Nichole and the stylist were like hanging out with old friends and chatting it up over drinks!

Fun and relaxing!

 Anything else you would like to add?

Seeing the comments on the ladies only page was flattering and because Nichole really did capture how we feel about each other in those pictures !

I'm Scared ..... No Sh*t .... We All Are

So I know you think that the ladies you see on my website all look amazing. Well, they are amazing!!

You probably think they all came in with stellar body confidence. That would be a lie. They were either a little nervous or scared sh*tless. That is true! What I can tell you is that each client leaves with this euphoric feeling. It’s what we like to call a boudoir high. My hope is that this feeling continues on for a long time.

This is why I LOVE wall art. They can be placed in your bedroom, bathroom, or even walk in closet. They are a great daily reminder that you are a beautiful goddess when the day to day life has you down.

The following photos are of my client who is a Burlesque dance. How fun! NSFW

Before + After Photoshop/Posing { New Hampshire Boudoir}

I often get asked to what extent I will retouch images. Also, the next followup question is that they have never posed before and will I be able to work with them. These are great questions so I created this blog article to show you examples of both.

Retouching can be quite aggressive or just a light touch. I always retouch anything that is considered non-permanent. This would include but not limited to acne and bruises. I will soften or remove cellulite when requested. My philosophy is to keep it as minimal as possible. I will not change your body shape, however if a bra strap is too tight then I will fix any bulges that result. This is where properly fitted clothes is essential.

Preparing for a session can help to minimize some concerns. Drink plenty of water at least a week before, avoid tan lines or get a professional tan spray the week before, and make sure items fit properly. I highly recommend seeing an Esthetician to discuss breakouts and dry skin. This can take several visits to really take care of your skin.

Remember that hair + makeup is provided at the studio before your boudoir session. I use amazing artists in the area that will discuss the look you desire.

When I mention my job I usually get a response like, β€œI could never do that, I don’t have the right body shape” or β€œI wouldn’t know how to pose”. Boudoir is for EVERYONE. You are posed from head to toe. I even hop on the couch and show you the pose. This usually gets us laughing because I am a dork. Below is an example of what an un-posed butt looks like and then the after. It is all in the arch for this image. If you cannot arch then I will show you how to get close to a similar pose by pushing with your knees.

Boudoir Session for "A.G" { New Hampshire}

What made you decide to book a session?

I decided to apply because of the self esteem boost I got after my first reconstruction after breast cancer (Scar Project photos) and I hope it inspires other cancer patients/survivors to pamper themselves because we are all beautiful no matter how many scars or missing parts we have.

How were you feeling prior to your session?

PUMPED! I love to be pampered because I don't take the time to do it myself - and I knew it would be fun "playing" model and especially in sexy lingerie. I have had a love/hate relationship with my body having had several breast surgeries but through photography I see myself in a different way.

Describe your experience

Liberating! I've had a lot of clinical disrobing and becoming less modest at my appointments (my boobs are mostly fakers now and I don't feel shy any more at this point) I loved collaborating with Nichole and trying on different types of sexy things that I wouldn't normally pick for myself.

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
Definitely more confident about how I look as a 45 year old cancer survivin' momma! Birthin' babies ain't no joke, and having back scars and boob scars on top of that can wear you down. Seeing these photos was eye opening again, 11 years after the Scar Project. But this time, instead of my scars being the focus, it was on me as a woman and the power we have and freedom to feel and look sexy.

What advice would you give to a friend considering a session?

Be yourself but be open to trying on different things...you never know what you'll like for lingerie or poses! Let your inner freak out!! (Lady on the street but a freak in the bed - thanks Ludacris)

How was working with Nichole and the stylist?

Truly awesome. They are both total professionals but so warm and easy to talk to. I had no trepidation at all. Nichole put on some of my favorite music (90s Hip Hop/rap) and we chatted about various things. The stylist did a fantastic job with my makeup and hair (I'm a curly girl and decided to keep it 'natural') and did natural but eye catching makeup (loved the false eyelashes!!) Nichole again was awesome to collaborate with - we talked over the outfit choices and poses; I suggested a couple of poses with my guitar (one to feature my back scar) and she was very open to doing them! She is very no-pressure to purchase any of the photos (but after you see them you will soooo want to!) She is also very serious not to post anything on social media unless you approve of it. That made me feel extra comfortable since we still live in a 'modest' society where anything revealing could make the PTO shun you (but if they did, would I really want my son in that school?) I'm proud of my body the way it is! Though, I can always pull the cancer card...kidding. Maybe.

Would you consider doing another session?

I definitely would, but next time its going to be a couples shoot!

Anything else you would like to add?

It doesn't matter what shape, size, scars, no scars, tattoos, piercings etc you have - do it for YOU!!! You will feel super sexy and not weird in a Hustler/Playboy kind of way. I don't feel objectified since I CHOSE to do this shoot. These photos are for you - go for it!!
